Situated at the end of a gated driveway off a small, quiet country road, Maison Trianon is set amongst natural vegetation with plenty of parking on the premises. 

The pool and entertaining area, plus many of the rooms, share the magnificent views across the valley to the mountains, with little villages dotted here and there in the distance.  A long, covered, stone paved terrace runs around most of the house, with two steps down to the vast, south facing teak decking around the L-shaped infinity pool, which is 14m x 5m and 1.5m in depth, with steps gently easing into it on two sides.  There’s plenty of room for sunbathing and sun beds are provided.  The outdoor dining setting is by the side of the pool, again with glorious views and a gas BBQ is all ready for use for your vacation rental.  NB: The pool has a safety fence which is not seen in the photos.

All ground floor rooms are tiled with slate in natural tones.  Entry is into the huge, eat-in kitchen decorated in burnt sienna and saffron yellow colours, with glass doors opening to the terrace, deck and pool.  A long dining table seats 10 people and is separated from the kitchen by a wide, granite topped breakfast bar with shelves. The kitchen is very well equipped to the highest standards, with generous cupboard/ storage space and quality stainless steel appliances – dishwasher, big American fridge/freezer, large oven, gas hotplates, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc.    

A corridor with storage cupboards, one of which houses the washing machine and dryer, leads to two bedrooms, both with overhead fans,  One bedroom has a double bed with canopy, glass doors opening out to the terrace and an ensuite bathroom (shower, WC, hand washbasin).  The other is entered by a small vestibule opening to the bedroom and shower room (shower, WC, hand washbasin).  Twin beds have antique painted bed heads and canopies and glass doors on two sides open to the terrace.

Antique furniture mixes easily with some Oriental pieces, creating a truly unique mood in the sitting room dominated by a magnificent, white carved marble fireplace.   An antique Oriental cabinet hides the large screen TV with UK channels and Video.  There are also two CD players/cassette/radio.  A substantial library of books and videos is provided.  Comfortably furnished, lamps, rugs and coffee tables, framed prints and paintings, all blend together to create a cosy and relaxing room. Large glass doors on two sides open to the terrace and pool.

A staircase leads up to the spacious master bedroom suite with king size bed with large canopy, carved wooden bed head and antique armoire, also overhead fan.  Huge windows open up on two sides, overlooking the pool and views.  The large ensuite bathroom has bath, separate shower, WC, bidet and big vanity with washbasin.

In a building separate from the house, exterior steps lead up to a large bedroom with twin, canopied beds, overhead fan and ensuite bathroom.

All bedrooms are delightfully decorated and they all have bedside tables, reading lamps, plenty of storage space.  All bathrooms have quality fittings and large mirrors.

A cot and highchair are available.  Central heating for winter.NB: there are some points on the property with a steep drop, however they are easily seen. 

THE VILLAGE:

Les Plans is a hamlet 6 kms from the bustling market town of Lodève which has shops, supermarkets, restaurants, a large weekly street market, bike hire and a museum with excellent exhibitions throughout the year.  The  hills and countryside surrounding the house are ideal for walking and there is a multitude of local places of historic interest to visit. Mediterranean beaches are an hour’s drive, Lac Salagou for swimming, fishing and non-motorised water sports, 15 kms.  Golf at scenic Lamalou les Bains a 40 minute drive.
