This sizeable house is the permanent residence of a professional French family, which is let for a few weeks in the summer during their absence.  They will do all that they can to ensure that you have a holiday to remember in the comfort of their home.

The 8000 sq m grounds, with many mature trees, are fenced with electric gates and the large, rambling garden has swings for children.  The 5m x 10m swimming pool is fenced, as is the entire block of land of 8000 sq m, including electric gates to the front.  The big barbeque area, with timber decking, has a barbeque which also has a wood-fired oven suitable for cooking pizzas and bread.  A ping-pong table is available for guests use.

French doors open from both the sitting room and kitchen to the terrace overlooking the garden.  This is an ideal spot for al fresco dining on a hot day.

On the ground floor is the large sitting room with fireplace, TV with satellite dish (includes English channels), CD/cassette/radio, and plenty of comfortable seating - the dining room with French doors opening to the terrace which overlooks the pool and garden. The new kitchen is very well equipped including dishwasher and microwave, electric oven, gas hob, big fridge/freezer, espresso machine, toaster, food processor, etc.  There is some weights/gym equipment if you’d like to continue your training on holiday!  And WIFI connection if you bring your computer.

A double bedroom on the ground floor has a window overlooking the pool and French doors opening to the terrace.  There is also a bathroom and study on this level. 

In the main house on the top floor are three double bedded bedrooms (one fold up bed can be put in either room), separate WC and bathroom with two hand washbasins.  The washing machine is situated in the cellar, with a further bathroom.  A cot can be provided if required (please bring the linen).

There is a separate entrance to the ‘mazet’ (‘little house’), with a kitchen and sitting room with sofa bed on the ground floor, TV, and a spiral staircase leading up to a bedroom with one double and one single bed, plus a shower room with separate WC.  This would make a great ‘retreat’ for teenagers. ** Please click here for separate description.

The cleaner will be feeding the family cat, who may wander into the house but is more likely to ‘camp’ with neighbours.

THE VILLAGE:

The village of Le Pouget is a two-minute walk away and has a restaurant, two bars, mini market, boulangerie, pharmacy, doctor and hairdresser.  Supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc are a 7-minute drive away in the market towns of Clermont l’Herault and Gignac, which both have excellent weekly street markets.  Good swimming spots at Mediterranean beaches (30 minutes) and Lac Salagou (15 minutes).
