Fantastic position for your vacation rental, just 2 minutes’ walk from restaurants, shops, cafés and the many cultural, musical and artistic events this marvellous town hosts all year round.

This large house is divided into two and the owners, a French/English family, live in the other part.  The smartly renovated apartment is fully self-contained with its own flower filled, walled courtyard, which has sun for most of the year, (the balcony of the owners’ apartment is above).  The apartment is light and bright and features some of one of the owner’s, a professional artist, original paintings.

Entry is via a flight of stairs with handrail to the apartment’s front door, which opens to an entrance foyer.  From the foyer a door opens on to a small, light corridor.  To the right is the large bedroom with exposed beams, double bed, wardrobe etc plus armchair and a TV.  A huge window opens to the courtyard.

To the left of the corridor is a good-sized bathroom with bath, overhead shower and hand washbasin with vanity and big mirror and separate WC.  Up two steps is the bright, sunny kitchen/dining room with a window overlooking the courtyard and French door opening to it.  There are two armchairs also in this room.  The kitchen is new, neat, practical and well equipped with two hotplates, bench top electric oven, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, etc.    The original old tiles from the house have been retained here, with timber floors in the rest of the apartment.

The courtyard is 12 sq m with a dining setting provided and is an ideal spot for al fresco meals, or relaxing in the sun, a cool drink to hand!

THE TOWN:

Pézenas is a delightful, lively market town with a rich historical and architectural heritage.  Medieval, Renaissance and 17^th century houses make a wander through its streets an exceptional experience.  The weekly, all day Saturday street market is the best in the area.   A two-minute stroll from the house takes you to the heart of town with shops, supermarket, and a wide choice of restaurants and cafés.    In keeping with the town’s artistic style, there are many artisans’ shops selling locally made pottery, tablecloths and soft furnishings in beautiful Provençal prints, original works of art, etc.  and across the road a wine merchant.

There is a reasonable bus service into and out of Pézenas to Montpellier, Béziers, the coast and destinations in between, making it an ideal base if you don’t have a car.

We had a smashing holiday in Pezenas. The apartment was really nice, but the holiday was made by Karen and Gerard, two of the nicest people we have ever met, nothing was too much trouble for them...as for Pezenas, well it was everything we had hoped for, a beautiful lively town, there always seemed to be something going on, and it's perfectly located for days out at the beach, Montpellier, Carcassone, Perpignan, Beziers, Narbonne...and on and on, we only got to do a fraction of what we wanted to!
Highly recommended.

(We)  really enjoyed our stay in the apartment in Pezenas.  We found both (owners) to be great hosts; they answered our many questions yet were not overbearing or in our way.  The apartment itself was wonderful - we did make dinner there a few times and sat out on the patio every morning and evening.  Of course, the apartment was recently renovated, so it was new and clean - which we both appreciated……Pezenas is a great city and a wonderful base to explore the surrounding area.  (We) have been to France several times, but this was our first trip to this region.  I have to say that it is my favourite part of France; I simply loved it.

We returned yesterday after a wonderful break in Pézenas. The apartment was perfect for our needs and we were made extremely welcome by (owners). They were not at all intrusive but were always available if needed, very much like having extremely friendly neighbours. After two weeks it seemed like we had known them for years.   We both love the Languedoc region, having been there several times, but Pézenas is the icing on the cake and we will definitely return there, hopefully next year in the same apartment.
