Situated in the hills above the medieval market town of Lodève, Villa les Mimosas is a luxurious, architect-designed villa with magnificent, uninterrupted 180-degree views over the town and to the beautiful hills beyond. 

South facing, spacious and flooded with that special South of France light, the villa is elegantly furnished to a high standard. A vast, open plan living area, three generous bedrooms and three bathrooms make this a truly spectacular villa decorated with style, creating an ambience ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The pool and entertaining areas and two of the bedrooms, share the glorious views across the valley to the mountains, with little villages dotted here and there in the distance.  In the evening the floodlit spires of the Cathedral of Lodève, surrounded by the town lights, makes a spectacular vista.

The big sitting area is comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs; the soaring ceiling has magnificent beams.  

For your entertainment there’s a TV with satellite (UK free to air channels, Sky+ Digibox, which will allows guests to 

easily record up to 2 programmes simultaneously and pause programmes if required)) plus French channels, DVD player,

video and sound system.  

Very well equipped, the kitchen has a breakfast bar to separate it from the dining area.   There’s a full size American fridge/freezer with icemaker, microwave, electric induction hob and oven, kettle, toaster, etc.  A door leads out to a covered terrace with a built in BBQ, outdoor dining setting, cane sofa and armchairs for relaxing. A raised deck overlooking the pool is ideal for sunbathing.  If you’d like something a little more energetic, to the rear of the property is a boules pitch.

The pool surround is tiled and the surrounding garden landscaped with native plants.  The pool, 9 x 4.5 m, 1 to 1.5m deep, is entered by three steps. It has a wrought iron, gated fence around it for safety, plus an alarm.

On the ground floor, one bedroom has twin beds with a spacious bathroom opposite; the bathroom has a big shower, washbasin and there is a separate WC.  Further along is a bedroom with king-size bed with ensuite bathroom (bath, separate shower recess) and separate WC.  The bedroom opens to a terrace.

A flight of stairs leads to the upstairs bedroom suite with king size bed, dressing room, ensuite shower room (shower, WC, wash basin) and a door to a small, private terrace, the perfect sunny spot for morning coffee looking out over the view.

All bedrooms are delightfully decorated and have plenty of storage space.

A utilities room houses the washing machine, iron, ironing board.

A cot and high chair for a baby are available. 

THE AREA:

Lodève, just 5 minutes’ drive, has shops, supermarkets, restaurants, a large weekly street market, bike hire and a museum with excellent exhibitions throughout the year.

You can walk to town (about 20 minutes downhill along a track) to easily access the town’s restaurants.  If you don’t feel like walking back up, you can order a taxi to take you home!

Restaurants in nearby villages include ‘le Temps de Vivre’ with 2 Michelin forks, in Soubes.

The surrounding hills and countryside are ideal for walking and there is a multitude of local places of historic interest to visit. Mediterranean beaches are an hour’s drive, Lac Salagou for swimming, fishing and non-motorised water sports, 15 kms.  Golf at scenic Lamalou les Bains is a 40 minute drive. 

The lively university town of Montpellier, with an International airport and train station, is one hour by car, also Carcassonne and the Cathar castles; the Spanish border an hour and a half.  This is the largest wine producing area in France and there are many tasting opportunities to be found in ‘cave co-operatives’ and private domains.
