Le Mazet is a completely self-contained stone house owned by a professional French family who live next door.  It is set in large grounds of 8000 sq m, with a swimming pool, in a private position on the outskirts of the village of Le Pouget, a two-minute walk away.

Whilst attached to the main house, visitors to Le Mazet enjoy complete privacy both inside and out.  The main entrance is at the front of the house from the front garden, through sliding glass doors (with shutters for security), into the spacious sitting/dining room with kitchen.

The fully equipped kitchen has fridge with small freezer, gas cooker, exhaust fan, microwave etc. and plenty of cupboard space.  A bar separates the kitchen from the living area, which is furnished with a sofa that converts to a bed, a large, round dining table and chairs, T.V. (French channels), plus CD player/radio.

From the living area a glass door opens to a large (approximately 25 sq m) sitting room, comfortably furnished with sofas, cane furniture and relaxing tropical-style décor.  An ideal spot to take it easy if you want a break from the sun!  There are glass sliding doors opening to the private patio which leads to the garden and the pool.

A solid timber spiral staircase leads up to a small landing with plenty of hanging space.  Please note that the staircase is narrow and there is a gap at the top of stairs on the landing, which may not be suitable for very young children.  Off the landing is the large bedroom with one double and one single bed, overhead fan, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a window overlooking the garden and pool.  The shower room has a large shower, hand washbasin and washing machine and there is a separate WC also off the landing. 

Sleeping arrangements can be organised to suit your needs.  Apart from the upstairs bedroom with one double and one single bed, there is the sofa bed on the ground floor and a fold up bed for a child can also be provided.

The fenced pool is 5m x 10m, 1.10m-1.80m deep and is entered by four steps.  The pool is shared with the owners and their family. There is plenty of flexibility with use of the pool. Perhaps you would like to arrange some time to have exclusive use just for yourselves, or else to share it with the family and occasionally their friends, at any time.

There is a barbeque in the garden, which also has a wood-fired oven suitable for cooking pizzas and bread and plenty of outdoor furniture for sunbathing and al fresco dining.  A ping-pong table is available for guests use. A cot can be provided if required (please bring the linen).

The owners, who have a cat and a dog, speak good English.  They are happy to help you enjoy your holiday to the utmost with sightseeing suggestions, restaurant reservations, etc, and will be as friendly or as discreet as you wish. There is under cover private parking on the premises, within a few feet of the entrance.

THE VILLAGE:

The village of Le Pouget is a two-minute walk away and has a restaurant, two bars, mini market, boulangerie, pharmacy, doctor and hairdresser.  Supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc are a 7-minute drive away in the market towns of Clermont l’Herault and Gignac, which both have excellent weekly street markets.  Good swimming spots at Mediterranean beaches (30 minutes) and Lac Salagou (15 minutes).

We cannot thank you enough!  Le Mazet was fabulous fully equipped very comfortable loads of space very clean. The garden was a dream the family absolutely fabulous, made us feel a part of the family.  Our tans may fade but our memory of this holiday will last a very long time.

We had the best time in Le Pouget, the family at Le Mazet could not have been more hospitable and friendly.  The house was ideal with the most beautiful setting, nice and peaceful, access to the pool anytime, just everything we could possibly want.

…Le Mazet was everything we could have hoped for.  The (owners) were wonderful hosts.  They were very friendly, helpful and unless we needed anything, left us to our own devices.  The location was wonderful - a very quiet little town, but so close to Clermont L'Herault (wonderful market) and Gignac (also charming).  The suite was great - lots of room.  It was nice to have breakfast in the front room, overlooking the garden/pool area.Overall, it was one of my favorite parts of our 3 weeks in Europe -  and we would recommend it to anyone.
